Shipping up to Boston

I had the pleasure of spending a few hours with the Shins during a Chicago pit stop on their journey to relocate to Boston.  Since they spent many years here as a family, it only seemed right to go very "Chicago" in the backdrop for their session...so we met up at Millenium Park.  Hopefully these images will serve as a reminder of all the happy memories they have of their years here in the Windy City.

Bullet holes and blazes of light

E and i spent last week in the Ozarks.  It was a much needed getaway!! A week full of boating, kayaking, swimming, eating...and dance dance revolution--- and let's not get me started on how I was the only one in the group that had dance on my childhood sports resume...and yet the ONLY one not to ever win??!! Not once. For real.  A 6 year old beat me (more than once). That game is seriously rigged.  It was hilarious (and totally and utterly aggravating all that the same time).  Anyone who knows me knows I have a slight problem with being competitive, even in totally uncalled for circumstances.

The cove at night...

The boys spent a few of the evenings sending light into the sky...I camped out far away as I don't trust those things, (rightfully so...more than once I shouted 'was it supposed to shoot this direction??' --- as I watched them sail past me...the answer always 'nope, sorry about that'...hmmm...)  While they shot off the fireworks, I had some fun with long exposures...

Fun with sparklers!

And there is a neat run down gas station down there that I just love...have always wanted to do a quick styled shoot...Bahar you are a natural!! Just gorgeous!

This little guy wandered up and was just dying to be part of the shoot!

We found this chair inside the abandoned gas station...complete with some legit bullet holes...

Now...weeks a month's worth of sessions to catch up on round here.  More to come...stay tuned :)
