I have had the pleasure of shooting this sweet girl since she was just a few days old. Hard to believe she is already 1!!  She gets cuter and cuter, more smiley and animated every time I see her...such a joy to be able to capture these milestones along the way!  Thanks to her Mom and Dad for allowing me to document this first year!

So great seeing this sweet family again! I've had the privilege of capturing these three since Bobby was just turning 6 months old.  Now he is a very active toddler and full of personality!  We spent the morning shooting at Bobby's favorite park...a few shots from our session!

I love when mommie's sign on for a full YEAR ONE package...the ability to capture and document a little one's first 12 months is so special.  This sweet girl was born this fall and here she is...already 6 months old...and just perfect. Just look at those striking blue eyes..and those CHEEKS!!! I could eat her up! Happy 6 months to this little angel!

Fall Portraits -- Bennett Family

A quick look at this gorgeous family from our session a little over a week ago.  We got it in the very last weekend the trees were holding their leaves...and it was beautiful!

These little boys were such rockstars the entire shoot.  I usually plan to build in some 'warm up' time...a buffer before we really get 'down to it' to allow little ones time to get more comfortable with the stranger with the giant camera.  Not necessary with these kiddos.  They were so outgoing and fun!

Such a good looking clan---they could have shown up in bags and would have looked smashing. But mom did a fantastic job with the styling! I adore when clients incorporate pops of color!

Blue Eyed Babes

I met up with this family a few weeks back to discuss an upcoming wedding, and we did a quick family session in their great big backyard as a bit of a warm up to 'the big day.'

I am a giant sucker for kids with blue eyes.  My Popo (aka grandpa on my mom's side) had brilliant blue eyes.  He was pretty much the only one in the family...so it's a LONG shot...but there is a chance...that just maybe someday...the trend of (every single person except my Popo having) brown eyes. Don't get me wrong. I'm a brown-eyed girl and proud of it. But it would be kind of neat...

Sara and Joe have two little girls with absolutely magical eyes.  You could get lost in them.  A few shots from our session and you'll see what I mean...

"Spotty showers" may be my new favorite weather prediction for portraits! Okay...Okay...I kid...rain of any kind on the forecast for a day I have an outdoor portrait session is cause for panic.  That said...if I HAVE to have rain...I will from hereon out wish for "spotty showers."

In the midst of this sweet little girl's 1st birthday session...the sky just opened up. We had about a minute of light showers to gather ourselves up...and right about the time we all made it to shelter in our vehicles...it just began outright pouring. Like crazy hard rain!

And then about 5 minutes later...it stopped as fast as it began.  And as we emerged from our cars...what did we see in the distance but a beau-ti-ful rainbow!!!  

It was such a gorgeous site!  But didn't hold a candle to the beauty in this tiny human.  With the rain delay and all...this was a longer session than I typically get out of babies this age --- and she endured the whole thing with a huge smile and no shortage of adorable personality! Sweet Caroline indeed.

It's 'bout time

Given that it's May...I am thrilled that Mother Nature might be gracing us with ...drum roll...SPRING!!!?!  Oh how I hope the warm(er) weather is here to stay.  Outside of the excitement of shedding all the layers and putting the boots away...it also means it's time for outdoor portrait sessions!  Finally!

A few out-takes from a session at the Lincoln Park Lily Pond a few weeks back.  I had the privilege of shooting this beautiful family last fall.  So sweet to see how much little Bobby has grown! 

Fall Catch-up Part II

I'm baaaaaaack. And only a few short weeks (okay more like 3) later...congrats to me!  Just another quick review of some of my favorite fall portrait sessions.  

This last one was so bittersweet! It was my last session of 2012. I shot this sweet family when they were expecting their darling little girl...and again for her newborn session.  About a year later they got an amazing opportunity to ship off to Amsterdam...LUCKY!! But sad that it will be some time before I shoot them again.  Thanks to FB I can tell they are having an amazing time :)
